The Human Resources Committee of AEGEE-Europe establishes and ensures a HR Cycle management which fosters maximum engagement and development of each AEGEE member throughout their entire AEGEE life. We secure internal education and the knowledge transfer between different membership stages from the early phase of being an AEGEE newbie until becoming alumni of the association. By providing knowledge and research we help locals, members and all European Bodies in creating a sustainable and effective working atmosphere.

Main aims and tasks:
- Creating a profile for AEGEE members and keeping an overview of their (training) needs
- Training new HR Responsibles and providing them with tools and materials for their work
- Developing a recruiting strategy for new members
- Creating and managing an HR database, in order to help people find suitable places for them inside AEGEE and keep an overview over open positions at the European level, in project teams, etc
- Establishing a structure for sustainable knowledge management
- Being available for questions about knowing how to be active at the European level, how to join a project team, how to create an HR strategy at the local level, etc
- Creating manuals for members
- Bringing the Europen level closer to the antennae by making it more attractive to local members, which entails more possibilities of personal development as well as the development of the whole Network
- Analyzing the needs of the Network through gaining knowledge about missing points and strong points in the organisation and sharing that knowledge with the antennae for their better functioning in the future
- Ensuring the cycle of information through the transmission of gathered knowledge to antennae, in order for them to gain new members and make AEGEE more attractive for non-active members
- Gathering and collecting materials about HR in AEGEE and creating new ones in order to be always informed about the current situation and the last trends related to HR in AEGEE
The reason to create this committee was that HR in AEGEE was not well shaped before. The Human Resources Strategic Plan that was created by the AEGEE-Academy in 2011 and some points of the Organisational part of the Strategic Plan 2011-2014 have their focus on the development of a more functional HR policy in AEGEE’s organisation. The group has as a goal to create a common HR system in order to make AEGEE more attractive for its members, especially for new comers. It aims to get people more involved in Working Groups and Committees at the European level, besides being active at the local level. The creators of the Human Resources Committee (HRC) would like to help the antennae to encourage young people to become active AEGEE members and in order to make the execution of this plan possible this group was created.

At the present, there are no special requirements in order to get involved in the group, apart from the interest in HR and motivation to work. However, other factors such as experience in HR, special studies, projects, etc can surely help and are very much appreciated in the progress of the group.
The HRC is a way for new members to get involved at the European level. It creates the opportunity for people to work in an international field, where they can develop their basic skills of working in a foreign language and in HR. They will help develop new strategies on how to reach new members, how to encourage people to get more involved, and they will have the possibility to use the knowledge already gained at the local level, in their home antenna.
The work is composed of small tasks, which added up (after some period) constitute a big common task for the whole group.
Experienced members can work with less experienced ones and coordinate the work of the whole group or certain subgroups. It depends on their motivation and ambitions. The candidates for the last level should have the ability of self-motivation, as well as the ability to motivate the whole group. They coordinate all the members in their work, give advice, participate in the weekly meetings and check if all tasks have been correctly accomplished, in due time.
At the moment, there are 2 elected positions, Board speaker and Vice-speaker. Additionally, there is a CD appointed member (non-elected by the group).

Amount of work required:
All members interested in joining the HRC should take into consideration that the board members work for 1-2 hours every day, on average, that coordinators work for about 1 hour per day, whereas regular members need 3-4 hours per week in order to be involved in the HRC.[/column]
