Y Vote 2014 on the Road
“Y Vote 2014 on the Road” is one of the pillars of the transnational campaign to promote citizen participation in the European Parliamentary elections of 2014.
This initiative is intended to empower young generations to start a trip on a bus around one of the most affected countries by the crisis (Spain) and a country with increasing levels of eurosceptisism (UK). The participants of the bus tours will inspire, motivate and engage the older generations to re-sign their contract with Europe, to believe once again in the importance of having the European Union and to make informed choices in the European Parliament elections.
Through two strategically selected bus tours in different EU countries, the young generations having their youth-led idealism and energy will convince older generations that European project is of our all interest and it is still something worth investing in.
We will organize bus tours in Spain (country most affected by the crisis, for example, the youth unemployment reaching already 60% makes citizens loose their faith in the EU) and the United Kingdom where the level of eurosceptisism is strikingly high, and the EU is facing the possibility of losing one of its Member States.
During these bus tours, not only Europe will be promoted, but also different choices which EP European Political Groups offer on the future of Europe will be delivered, This will be also an opportunity for citizens to have a space to express what they want for the future of Europe and reach the decision-makers directly.
